My background is in academia and public service. My PhD was in political science, broadly understood l-- that is, so broadly that photography was an easy step.

I began taking photography seriously only with the prospect of retirement looming. My initial interests were in landscape and people. That's been reversed. While I still take landscape photos -- how could one not living in this area -- my major interest lies in the human things: the human face and its habitations. .
