I seek to express a sense of wonder
at everyday life by playing with color, composition
and the figure. With a G.I.Bill,
I pursued my interest in art at the university.
I painted and drew my way from a
University of Oregon BFA to Yale summer school
to a Stanford MFA. I have remained in
the bay area that has provided endless local
subject matter to paint and draw.

From my earliest memories I’ve been excited about art. Its smell, physicality and visual stimulations instill joy in me. I paint with oils and acrylics and make marks on paper with whatever makes an impression. My influences range from First Nation imagery to archeological finds to Dutch classics to expressionist figurative works. The paintings depict the present world in the imagination.
