I was born in Berkeley. I studied watercolors at CCAC during summer school. I received my MA with a major in sculpture and minor in rhetoric. Upon graduating I sought my fortune in NYC where I was encouraged, but life was expensive and fast. Returning to the Bay Area I participated in Open Studio and other exhibitions. My greatest success and honor was having my painting in the de Young OPEN.

One of the challenges in this work was painting a person I love wearing polka dots which she loved. I used the transparent quality of watercolors creating a rich blue blouse by painting the entire blouse in red, then with ultra marine blue. The focus, the face, groups with the lighter areas in a frank, friendly, open gaze to which the reds and blues add a personal depth.
